Keltoi - Reviews

"The evening that Keltoi played at New Traditions in Olympia was nothing short of magical (even ‘soul nourishing’
according to one audience member). The band played impeccably! Of note (amongst many favorites) was an exquisitely
moving a cappella Gaelic song from the 1600’s by Rich Hill, which silenced further an already rapt audience.
There was a feeling of enchantment that spread throughout the room. A true timelessness like a fine mist filled
the space. By the end of the concert they earned a well earned standing ovation and an invitation to come back again!"

"Keltoi was among the best groups that have ever performed on the (ping pong table) hayloft stage, tight as the "fit"
was. The piping of Cameron backed by the cittern, fiddle and bodhran resonated beautifully in the all- acoustic
barn and the a cappella vocals were a real treat, as the blend of the voices was perfect. Rich's solo work in
Scottish Gaelic proved that lyrics do not have to be understood to be "felt" at a deep level. The audience appreciated
the chance to join in on the chorus of The Mary Ellen Carter, presented as a special favor to the hostess. Great show!!"

"The sound is refreshingly lyrical and gentle, making singing in Gaelic sound simple. Keltoi's collective spirit and
performance acumen is of the highest order....relaxed, seamless, and entertaining!"

"It was lovely meeting Keltoi, and sharing some time and conversation. And the concert was wonderful! More please :).
You all have inspired me to resume playing some pieces that I'd forgotten about, and to learn some new ones."
